First Requirement Empathy

It seems Obama's first requirement for a Supreme Court Judge is--empathy. Empathy is the ability to share feelings and to understand another's emotions and feelings; in other words, the ability to put oneself in another's shoes, according to Wikipedia. The fact that Obama's top requirement is the ability to empathize should send chills up and down the spines of Americans. If a judge or justice is required to be empathetic, how can there possibly be any objective interpretation of the law? Without objectivity, a judge or justice could intrepret a law any way he or she wants to just because he or she empathizes with the victim or cause! I find it hard to believe that Obama went to Harvard Law School, or any law school for that matter, when he comes up with crazy stuff like this. All the more reason to write your reps demanding the top requirement be objectivity instead of empathy. To see what Michael Ramirez thinks about empathy, click on the title above to see a great cartoon. Then put the pressure on your reps to totally vet and scrutinize the next Supreme Court nominee.
