Cap and Trade Bill Passes House Committee

Dennis Whitfield from the American Conservative Union just sent out an email concerning the massive energy tax increase called "Cap and Trade." According to Mr Whitfield this bill passed out of committee yesterday on almost a party line vote. Now it heads to the floor of the House and to the Senate. Apparently the Dems are hoping to accomplish this during the Memorial Day weekend when they figure most of us will be paying more attention to barbeques, beaches and parades than the doings on Capitol Hill. The Dems have called in their heavy hitter, Al Gore, to mobilize the Senate and Congress to push this bill through. Liberals such as Congressman Eliot Engle (D-NY) consider Al Gore "the guru" of climate change!! Yes that's right, Al Gore, who stands to profit the most from this. According to conservative Joe Barton (R-TX and member of the House Committee that passed this bill) "one estimate puts the price per family of four at $29,373 over 10 years. Another estimate is that it will raise electricity rates 90 percent after adjusting for inflation, boost gasoline prices 74 percent and natural gas prices 55 percent !!! Lost jobs, soaring energy costs can't deter Democrats from advancing this radical global warming plan." We can't just lay down and let this bill pass without a fight. We must speak up and make our voices heard! Now is the time everyone to IMMEDIATELY email, call and fax your reps. Let them know if they vote for this bill there will be a day of reckoning in 2010. Realize that this bill is a HUGE tax on all Americans. The Dems know it and do not care. They are determined to pass it anyway no matter what. We a lot of work ahead of us and only a few days to accomplish it. The Dems are counting on you to be asleep at the switch. They are moving quickly hoping no one will catch on. WE MUST STAY VIGILANT. WE MUST KEEP UP THE PRESSURE. Make those phone calls, send those emails and faxes and have a great holiday weekend!
