Obama as Leninoid

Obama as Leninoid

Shared via AddThis This is an excellent article written by James Lewis from American Thinker illustrating the parallels between Obama and Lenin. If you had any doubts as to Obama's radical Marxist background this should set you straight! Very powerful!

Obamacare activists to crash D.C.'s massive tea party?

Obamacare activists to crash D.C.'s massive tea party?

Shared via AddThis Obamacare activists supposedly are planning a "well funded counterattack" on Sept 13th the day after the 9/12 March. If you can make it to DC for the March go because numbers will make a difference! If you can't go show up to tailgate parties and go to other supporting events. Above all keep contacting your legislators and keep up the pressure!

Harry Threatens Newspaper

Just when you think you have heard it all, something else comes along. It seems like everyday there is something new and worse! Harry Reid seems to have adopted some of the current administration's tactics in dealing with those who do not share his opinion. I have said before that the day we lose a free press is the day that we have truly lost freedom. Mr. Reid seems to want to hasten the coming of that day.

Why No Tort Reform?

Click on the title to read a great article about why there is nothing in any of the current bill drafts about tort reform. If our legislators were really serious about health care reform, tort reform would be a major part as it would result in huge cost savings, bring down insurance premiums and enable many physicians to remain in practice. It is both revealing and disturbing that Howard Dean himself admits that the reason there is nothing about tort reform in the bill is because they "didn't want to take on the trial lawyers along with everyone else they were taking on." What kind of thinking is that?? Why would you ignore something that could bring about true cost savings and make a real difference? Could it be because the Trial Lawyers have a powerful lobby and are in the tank for Obama? Could it be because so many of our legislators are lawyers? What is going on here? For example, House Bill 3200 has a provision that physicians would get to keep only a certain percentage of their practices. How much will lawyers get to keep of their practices? Does any of this apply to them at all? The answer so far is no. Until they look seriously at measures that can bring about true reform, I would have to say that our legislators seem more interested in a power grab than anything else.

'Take that thing off your head'

'Take that thing off your head'

Shared via AddThis Wow I wonder how many of us would have had the stones to do what this young lady did? In my humble opinion her courage was punished. She never made a threat, she simply expressed an opinion. Perhaps she could have been a little more diplomatic but I doubt that would have helped as the teacher probably still would have reported her. What gets me is that it was the teacher who reported the incident, not the two students involved! It would have been better if the teacher had stayed out of it and let the two students settle their differences as long as things didn't escalate to violence. As it was the teacher ended up backing down, changing her story and making things worse! This forced a politically correct solution, one that directly infringed on one student's first amendment rights and one that taught the other that respect for the American way of life is not required. We all need to remember that respect is always a two-way street. True respect is never just given, it is always taught and earned.

NHS closes its doors to foreign doctors - Times Online

NHS closes its doors to foreign doctors - Times Online

Shared via AddThis Fascinating! Is this what we have to look forward to here if the Obamacare/Ted Kennedy Memorial Bill gets passed? We already have a shortage of doctors in critical areas. If this is how government run health care manages the doctor supply I think I will pass on it.

Finally, Conservatives Have Their Freedom Fighters

Finally, Conservatives Have Their Freedom Fighters

Shared via AddThis I never thought that one day I would be considered a protester or a demonstrator. I never dreamed that my belief in God, country, truth and the American way would ever predispose me to be called a nazi, racist, fascist or any of the other crazy horrible names our so called leaders have come up with. I never thought that I, a middle aged wife, swim mom, church leader, Girl Scout leader, and nurse practitioner would ever be considered a freedom fighter. Wow-me, a freedom fighter! How cool is that??

For those of you who think you can scare us off by calling us names and using your stupid little Saul Alinsky tactics on us, let me set you straight. We are not going to be silenced, we are not going away, we are growing in numbers daily and we will not be stopped by you or anyone else that wants to turn this country into a cess pool. This is a promise and one I intend to do all that is in my power to keep. After all, I am a freedom fighter now and damned proud of it!

Lockerbie Bomber Released for Oil?

Lockerbie Bomber Released for Oil?

Shared via AddThis So they wanted to release this guy for compassionate reasons. Guess they forgot about compassion needed for the families of the Pan Am 103 disaster. It is looking more and more like this was a matter of convenience and expedience than anything else. That makes it even more of a slap in the face for the victims' families. It also seems to be more evidence of how little influence the US has in the UK and the rest of the world now. Can you imagine this happening five or ten years ago? Unthinkable! But now we hear outraged comments coming from the White House and the State Department. One wonders how hard they tried to stop it in the first place.

'Obamacare:' What does the Constitution have to say?

Shared via AddThis Here is a great article on why, within the context of the Constitution, it is not up to the Federal Government to provide health care. I like that the author underscores that The Constitution really isn't so much about our rights as it is about what the government can and cannot do for it's people. It is time to get smart about our Constitution before it is too late.

Senate Finance Committee drops "Death Panel Provisions" From Senate Bill

This is great news but this is also no time to rest on laurels or become complacent. The provision could still end up in the final bill. We have a long way to go, and this section was just one of many objectionable things about this bill. No doubt Sarah Palin deserves a lot of credit for this but the lions share of it belongs to those of you who have contacted your reps, carried signs, gone to tea parties, visited with your reps at town hall meetings, written letters to the editor, put messages on facebook and twitter and have otherwise put the pressure on in countless ways. Take the Finance Committee's decision as a sign that grassroots efforts can and will make a difference! Keep up the good work and keep up the pressure!!

Obama: Government Health Care will be like...the Post Office

Shared via AddThis Since my husband is a FedEx pilot I find it pretty amusing that Obama uses the analogy of competition between FedEx, UPS and the Post Office as an analogy for public and private health care plans. So if you are forced to a public plan you better hope it works better than the Post Office!

Expert: Watch loyalty, not certificate of birth

Shared via AddThis Click on the title for a great article in response to the quest for Obama's "real" birth certificate. I wholeheartedly agree that the larger and more dangerous issue is where his loyalties lie. We may never be able to prove he is a natural born citizen even if we finally get to see the real birth certificate. This should be a lesson to us to thoroughly vet any and all presidential candidates because it is difficult to remove them once they are in office. We must never again allow a flashy campaign to distract us from making sure candidates are bona fide.

DISSENT IS PATRIOTIC

Union Thugs were recorded trying to intimidate people trying to get into a town hall meeting to confront their representatives about health care. They were also caught on tape getting physical with people. They had warned that they were going to do this in order to try to stop the debate and squash public opposition. I want them to understand something. American citizens have every right to voice their opinions to their representatives. They also have the God given right to self defense. You never know who you are putting your hands on. I am a certified Military hand to hand combat instructor, 3rd degree black belt in karate, first degree black belt in judo, mixed martial arts instructor, former boxer and kick boxer. If I show up to a town hall, I don't respond well to intimidation or to anyone putting their hands on me. It makes me mad, and in the words of David Banner, you won't like me when I'm mad. Free speech is the American way. I am calling on all my fellow martial artists to attend town hall meetings protect, and make sure our fellow Americans are not abused by these thugs. Freedoms Pitchfork is not responsible for this message. I am! No true Martial Artist looks for trouble, but in the words of Gichin Funakoshi, the father of modern day Karate " In ones daily life, ones mind and body be trained and developed in the spirit of humility; and that at critical times, one be devoted utterly to the cause of justice."

Sestak: Health Care Protests Fair, Tough Debates

Wow! Finally a Democrat that recognizes what the true democratic process should be all about! He and Representative Marsha Blackburn both recognize that this debate belongs to the American people and that no senator or congressman should be afraid of a tough debate. We need more leaders like this!

I attended Congressman Marsha Blackburn's town hall meeting and it was great! It was supposed to be held in one of the meeting rooms at the Macaroni Grill in Germantown so when I arrived I was amazed to find a large crowd at the front door. I went inside and inquired where the Blackburn meeting was going to be held. One of the managers (his eyes wide as saucers) told me that there must have been a misunderstanding, that Macaroni Grill doesn't typically "do things like this" and to talk to a man in a blue suit outside about where the meeting would be held. So I went outside and waited with the rest of the crowd which kept growing larger but was peaceful and orderly. While waiting I was able to exchange ideas with people on both sides of the issue and our discussions were great. After awhile one of Congressman Blackburn's staff announced that since our group was so large they had made arrangements with Macaroni Grill to meet in the parking lot. So we moved to an empty area of the lot where there was a van with speakers and a microphone and Congressman Blackburn spent the next hour totally engaged with us, walking around, answering our questions, and passing the microphone around so that everyone could be heard. The debate was passionate but orderly without the shouting, name calling and abusive language that has characterized other meetings. She encouraged everyone from all sides to voice their concerns, saying it was imperative that the American people have a chance to debate tough issues such as health care.

There were some police there, as appropriate for a town hall meeting with a Congressman. But there were no reporters or TV cameras. So that is why I am writing this, so that people will know that it is possible to have real town hall meetings with real debates if you have a representative who is not afraid to engage with people and honestly answer their questions. Pictures to follow.

Michigan crowd vents health care fury - Washington Times

Michigan crowd vents health care fury - Washington Times

Shared via AddThis Even in the blue state of Michigan people are angry! In my experience most people don't shout if they feel they are being heard. But even in the face of complete opposition this Senator still said that reform wouldn't fail because he "wouldn't let it." He shouldn't be surprised that people are shouting at his town hall meetings. They are trying to get him to hear their concerns, to which apparently he has decided to turn a deaf ear.

EDITORIAL: Killing it softly - Washington Times

EDITORIAL: Killing it softly - Washington Times

Shared via AddThis Great editorial about how private insurance will eventually be abolished if the current reform bills stand. Bear in mind that HR 3200 is not the final form. Before Congress left for recess many other admendments were proposed and will be debated in September when recess is over. We still have a chance to shape this bill. Even though they are not listening we have to make them listen to our concerns. Continue to contact your reps by phone, fax, email, town hall meetings and keep up the pressure!!

IT'S ALL ABOUT THE POWER

After countless debates with liberals I have come to one conclusion, it's all about the power. To be more specific, it's about how much power and control they are willing to give to government, as opposed to how much conservatives are willing to give government. You can't separate giving power to the federal government from giving away freedom and liberty. When government has more power, we have less liberty. So, the question is, how much "liberty" are "liberals" willing to give up? Apparently a lot. According to liberals there is nothing unconstitutional about Government taking over industries like banking, mortgage [the government now owns close to 90% of U.S mortgages], automotive [60% of general motors], investment ind., energy [ through crap and tax..oops, I mean cap and trade], health care. By the time Obama is through the government will control over 50% of the entire economy. This is a higher % than France, yet they still insist this is all Constitutional, and they refuse to admit that this is socialism. When you show them the Constitution they point to clauses such as the commerce clause, or the general welfare clause. These are the two clauses of the Constitution that have been used [interpreted] to justify every liberal legislation and spending program that has caused us a 12 trillion dollar debt. The Founding fathers warned us about this:

" If Congress can do whatever in their discretion can be done by money, and promote the
" General Welfare", the government is no longer a limited one, possessing enumerated powers, but an indefinite one...."   JAMES MADISON... The father of the Constitution
He elaborated on this limitation saying:

"With respect to the two words "general welfare" I have always regarded them as qualified by the detail of powers connected with them. To take them in a literal and unlimited sense would be a metamorphosis of the Constitution into a character which there is a host of proofs was not contemplated by it's creators."

Thomas Jefferson, referring to the general welfare said: "Congress has not unlimited powers to provide for the general welfare, but only those specifically enumerated."
When liberals are presented with these arguments, the "living and breathing document that changes with the times" always rears it's ugly head.
The problem with this argument is that it never existed before the early 1900's when the progressive movement started their push towards a socialist change in America. Nothing like that ever left the lips of the Founding fathers. In fact they said the exact opposite:
" The basis of our political system is the right of the people to make and to alter their constitutions of government. But the constitution which at any time exists, till changed by an explicit and authentic act of the whole people [ the amendment process], is sacredly obligatory
upon all"   GEORGE WASHINGTON

The amendment process as described in the constitution, is the living and breathing aspect of the document. Until that EXPLICIT AND AUTHENTIC process is completed, the Constitution stands as written. When ever we hear someone say the words 'interpreted' or  'implied' what they mean is, it can't be found by an ordinary, common sense reading of the Constitution, so some pin head academic has to explain it to us, but thats not the way it was intended. It was intended that the people would be vigilant in keeping our elected officials within the bounds of the Constitution. How could we do this if it is so complicated only someone with a law degree could figure it out? Alexander Hamilton, who was a federalist, and a proponent of a powerful federal government said, "It will be of little avail to the people that the laws are made by men of their own choice, if the laws be so voluminous that they can not be read, or so incoherent that they can not be understood..." Federalist papers #62

I wonder what Hamilton would have thought about a health care bill with over 1000 pages that in the words of one democrat congressmen, you need 3 days and 2 lawyers to understand?

Concerning government usurping power, there is a point of no return. A point where we will not be able to turn things around using our political system. Where is that point and what will it take to regain our liberty if it is reached?

Next week I will give you the powers every dictatorship needs to suppress it's people, The historical pattern that every Democracy followed leading to collapse and connect both of these things to the path our country is on right now.

This is Paul Revere reminding you, " The red coats ARE coming"

“ If we move in mass, be it ever so circuitously, we shall attain our object; but if we break into squads, everyone pursuing the path he thinks most direct, we become an easy conquest to those who can now barely hold us in check.”

Thomas Jefferson, letter to William Duane, 1811

Wal-Mart Takes Aim at Girl Scout Cookies

So now Wal-Mart is going to be selling their version of Girl Scout cookies. I am surprised they haven't teamed up with Dairy Queen who is selling Girl Scout cookie shakes. One could argue what is the difference? Personally I like the new commercial for Dairy Queen where the Girl Scout tells the guy eating the Dairy Queen treat that if he buys her cookies he can put more cookies in his treat. She wins the sale, through quick thinking and resourcefulness. I say there is nothing wrong with a little competition and it won't hurt the girls to learn how to deal with it. One could say that it's not so much about the sale as it is about the lessons learned through the sale. Yes you may be paying a bit more for that box of Girl Scout cookies but the lessons and skills you will be helping her learn will be priceless.

Health Care Informer In Chief Obama Needs Some Education

Click on the title to read a great letter written by a physician assistant which corrects a huge misconception created by one of Obama's spontaneous off hand remarks. Apparently Obama doesn't realize that tonsillectomies are rarely performed these day even by specialists and most certainly never by primary care providers. And this is the guy who wants to transform health care?

Yes They Are Talking About a Government Takeover of Health Care

This just in from Michelle Malkin's website--she says it is going viral over the internet so of course I had to post it. Click on the title to read the article and see the video. It seems pretty plain to me that the intention is for eventual government takeover of health care. See what you think!

See rebellion at grass roots

See rebellion at grass roots

Shared via AddThis Apparently the rowdy town hall meetings are happening all over the country, not just in NY as mentioned in my previous post. Click on the link for details. I am amazed at the disconnect between these lawmakers and their constituents. They can't seem to believe how truly angry people are about cap and trade, the stimulus, and health care. They want to blame it on the Republican Party for stirring things up. But what really stands out to me is Brian Smoot's (former head of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee) comment that it is a risk for Republicans to "align themselves with such a small minority in the party. They risk alienating moderates." So should we tell the Dems that the Tea Party numbers are growing daily and that they include democrats, independents, libertarians, and people from all races and walks of life? Or should we just keep it a secret and let them discover it for themselves come election time?

Town Hall Meetings Gone Wild!

It looks like town hall meetings have gotten to be way more exciting and interesting than they used to be, particularly for some NY lawmakers. Click on the title for details. What bothers me about this is the attitude these legislators have towards the protestors, treating them like naughty children instead of constituents with legitimate complaints. They seem to think that this is just anger expressed towards change and that once the change occurs everyone will be ok with it. They fail to recognize that their constituents are really angry with the direction of the country and are becoming more angry by the day, maybe even by the hour or the minute. Hopefully this anger will be expressed at the voting booth in 2010.
