It makes good sense to always be prepared for disaster. For example this past Friday severe storms and a tornado hit the greater Memphis, TN area with winds reaching 80 mph. The power was out in our neighborhood for almost 24 hours. About 77,000 people in the Greater Memphis Area lost power and many people won't have power back on for a week. As a result of this power outage, many of us lost refrigerated and frozen foods. With food prices sky high that is a loss that most of us can ill afford. Click on the title to get some excellent ideas on how to stockpile food and what foods to have on hand in case of disaster. Having at least a three day supply of canned and non-perishable foods on hand could make a big difference in your ability to survive and thrive in hard times and disasters. Now is the time to start planning your food supply while there is plenty available!
