Obama Wants Us to Turn In Our Old Cars?

In his speech yesterday Obama indicated he was calling on Congress to enact fleet modernization legislation to create more fuel efficient cars and to provide a generous 750 dollars to those turning in their old cars. Hmmm...one wonders if this is just semantics or if he really means we will have to turn in our old cars. Afterall, the government now owns 60-70% (depending on what source you get the numbers from) of GM and Chrysler. Somebody's got to buy those cars and I am willing to bet that if American's don't voluntarily buy them they eventually, through legislation and regulation, will be forced to buy them. This proposed fleet modernization legislation is a perfect example of legislation that could so easily lead to totalitarianism. Totalitarian leaders and governments operate by forcing their agendas on people, telling them "it's good for you, good for your country and good for the world." They can usually get people to go along in the beginning because it all sounds so good. Things may work well at the start but over the course of time the true nature is revealed. By the time people wake up and realize how much they have lost it is too late.

Now, more than ever, we need to educate ourselves about the difference between democracy, totalitarianism, socialism and communism and we need to pass our knowledge on to our children and grandchildren. We stand to lose our freedom and democracy forever if we don't! Contact your reps and tell them you will not tolerate any legislation that could rob you of your freedom of choice!
