Senate OKs Bill on Hate Crimes

This action takes us one step closer to the Hate Crimes Bill becoming reality. Click on the title to read the whole article. Again this is one of those bills that looks and sounds good on the surface but that could have much darker implications for the faith community particularly preachers. It's not a done deal yet as details still have to be hammered out in committee as it was attached to a defense bill for approving the F-22 fighter jet. What do hate crimes and F-22 fighter jets have in common? Why, the "don't ask don't tell" policy concerning gays in the military of course! This is just another example of how questionable bills slip under the radar and end up getting passed when they are attached to other bills. That is why it is so difficult sometimes to track them. I haven't found any information yet about when the committee will meet to hammer out the details. There is a chance the Hate Crimes bill will be taken off the table so it is imperative you call your senators today and insist they do not support this bill whether it stands alone or is attached to another bill.
