Obama Orders Study on Socialism - Chuck Norris - Townhall Conservative Looks like Obama has ordered a study of our current government to see if we have too many or too redundant regulations that could possibly slow economic growth or adversely affect American businesses. As with so many things in this administration, this executive order looks and sounds good on the surface. In fact there are some from both parties who think that this review is a good first step, as indicated in some of the articles below. But we are always left to wonder about Obama's true intentions especially when he orders the government to police itself without an outside, non-government independent audit. Now that we have a new congress we need to be very concerned about President Obama's executive power and closely scrutinize every executive order he signs. We have to be careful that we don't become so focused on the legislature that we miss critical executive decisions. We need to understand the importance of executive power and how it could be used against us. Now is the time to be even more vigilant because government by executive order is a clear path to dictatorship and most definitely unconstitutional.

What are they thinking
“ A PARABLE OF SOCIALISM”
Two men were breaking rocks in a field. They had been hired to break them and make two piles to be cleared so that the crops could be planted. They both worked all day. At the end of the day, one of the men had broken 200 rocks. The other had broken 100 rocks.
When the owner came, he paid them each 100 dollars. Now, the man that broke 100 rocks was very happy, but the man who broke 200 rocks, he was not so happy. He thought to himself, “ I worked twice as hard as him, but his pay was the same as mine. Why should I work so hard when I can work half as hard and get the same reward?”
The next day the two men went back to the field to break rocks again. They worked all day. At the end of the day the owner came and paid them each 100 dollars. They had each broke 100 rocks. They each spent the rest of their days working for the land owner.

We are all born equal. From that point on it is a matter of talent, motivation, discipline and hard work that decides our lot in life. No two people are the same. If you try to artificially create an equality of outcome in peoples lives, all you do is stifle those who would excel otherwise.

The other day someone made a comment to me. They said, "There is no reason anyone needs to make more than 250,000 dollars a year". Judging by their comments, I unavoidably came to the conclusion that they believe Government should control and cap how much people make. After all, who else could suppress success other than the Fed? I use to get into heated arguments with people when it came to these types of statements, but after telling a client ( not my client), "If you think this country is so bad, you should take advantage of one of the rights we have as American citizens and get the hell out, there are plenty of countries that have the kind of system you're trying to impose on me", and getting a phone call from my boss, who told me I can't tell clients to get the hell out of the country, I decided to take a different path. Now, instead of getting into heated debates at work when someone tries to bait me into a political argument, I just ask them a simple question like, " What are the enumerated powers of the Constitution?" When they look at me with a blank stare or say, "I don't know", I say, "Then you don't know enough to talk to me about the issue".
Now, to address this comment about how much someone needs. Truly, all anybody needs is shelter, heat, food and clothing. If you have a place to live, a wood burning stove, a place to plant vegetables, a few chickens, a cow, and a rifle for hunting, you're set. You NEED no more. Past that everything you have is not needed. If you own a flat screen T.V, or for that matter, any T.V, you don't need it. Get my point? I could walk into any of these people's houses and point out many things they don't NEED. It is the height of arrogance to have things you don't NEED, and tell others they don't need any more than you have.
If one of these people were called into the office by their boss, and told that they were doing a great job and they were getting a promotion, and their pay was being raised to 300,000 dollars a year, how many of them would say, " No,I only need 250,000 dollars a year? How many of these people, upon finding out they won 3 million dollars, would say, "No, I don't need that much". Hypocrites!!!
The fact is, that human nature dictates that most people will stop achieving when they reach a level at which there is no more reward. If I developed a special product that people wanted, and the profit on this item was 1 dollar per unit sold, and built a factory, and hired people to make this product, and made 250,000 dollars in the first 3 months I was in business, why would I keep working for the rest of the year if I already reached the maximum amount of money I could make? I would just close shop and all my employees would be unemployed for the rest of the year. Why would Bill Gates keep coming up with better computer programs if his income was limited? Limit reward and you limit creativity and the desire to progress!!! And, if individual income was limited, who would get the profit over and above the cap, the Government? The same Government who has had 5 decades to a century to get things like the post office, social security, medicaid, medicare, and Amtrak right? Every one of those things are going broke. Or how about the federal governments war on poverty? Trillions of dollars spent over 7 decades, and the percentage of poverty is higher than it was when they started? Tell me, who gets that money? After all the corruption, waste, and failures of the Fed, are their still people who want these reprehensables in Washington to take more from us? Who are these people?
Thomas Jefferson said, if you want people to overcome poverty, make them uncomfortable in poverty, for when you make them comfortable in poverty, in poverty is where they will remain.
Our Constitutional Republic and our system of capitalism has created more wealth than any other system that has ever existed in recorded history. In every system of government there are rich and poor, but in this system, as opposed to other systems, all it takes is a good idea and a good work ethic to become rich. This is the essence of freedom and liberty
So, if you believe in caps on wealth, then just stay wherever you are, but I warn you, in my quest to succeed, do not be the one to try to hold me down!!!!

Sunstein: Economic Crises Could Nudge Us Towards Socialism
Well, well, well--click on the title to read more nudging from Comrade Sunstein, our new regulatory czar. Bring on those economic crises so we can get right down to the business of becoming a socialist country! Apparently in Mr Sunstein's opinion, we would be better off as a socialist country. But he seems to ignore three basic facts of history. First fact--our country was founded and settled by people who hated what was going on in Europe and other countries. They didn't like monarchies, dictatorships, famine, disease, poverty, overcrowding in the cities, limited opportunities and just plain being bossed around. The fact that immigrants continue to flock to this country in containers on cargo ships, 18 wheelers, rafts and any other way they can get here seems to be lost on Mr Sunstein. Answer this Mr Sunstein--if this country is so bad why are people still sacrificing and in some cases killing themselves to get here? Ah, perhaps you have hit on the ultimate solution to illegal immigration. If our country becomes just like the countries they are trying to leave, immigrants won't want to come here anymore--yeah, that's it!
The second fact of history Mr Sunstein insist on ignoring is that socialism and communism don't work and this is mainly because of the first fact. People don't really like them and eventually they tend to rebel against them. Socialism would actually be a step backwards for us as a country. It will not make us more prosperous or more productive or more content. We will end up hating it just as much as our ancestors did and we will seek freedom once more. But here is the rub. We already have freedom now. If we throw it away in pursuit of the false promises of socialism and big government, it will be a long, painful process to get it back and there is no guarantee we can get it back at all. It took our fledgling country hundreds of years before we finally realized the dream of freedom and independence. It may take even longer for us to get it back if we let it go this time.
The third fact of history being ignored here by Mr Sunstein and many others is that socialistic governments don't have to be the inevitable result of external forces nudging us. Our very existence as a country proves we can withstand those forces if we have the will to do so. We can proactively push back against the nudging but it will take collective resolve to preserve our current freedoms and way of life. It will take a country full of people awake, alert and aware of the danger we face in losing everything our ancestors fought for. It will take a collective--even a world--dream of a place where everyone can live free. It is up to us as Americans to preserve it but how can we when we accept the presence of leaders like Mr Sunstein who so obviously do not have these interests at heart? If Mr Sunstein insists on ignoring these facts of history it is up to us to educate him. I can only hope we have the will, resolve and heart to do so before it is too late.

Cass Sunstein--Americans Too Racist for Socialism, and Let's Nudge Everyone Towards "Better Decisions"
I was going to write about this yesterday, sounding off about being called racist for the umteenth time, but couldn't finish the article due to technical difficulties. Now I am glad I had to wait because I just got an email this morning from The National Republican Trust concerning the upcoming release October 9th of their book Shadow Government: What Obama Doesn't Want You to Know About His Czars, that has apparently "rocked official Washington." It made me realize that Mr Sunstein's rascist insults were just the tip of the iceberg of his extremely radical, socialist--even communist views. If you don't think his anti-gun, anti-hunting, pro-tax and spend, pro-universal health care, pro-regulating talk radio and Internet blogs views are scary enough, click on the title of this article to read about how he envisions rewriting our Constitution by 2020 to embrace socialism/communism. Apparently this man has long been an advocate of using government power to "nudge" people towards "better decisions" and in fact, according to Scott Wheeler, Mr Sunstein has written a book called Nudge: Improving Decisions about Health, Wealth and Happiness. I have not read this book but judging from the title I would say that now that Mr Sunstein heads up the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA) he has the perfect platform to start nudging us. I have written before about how this administration is gently guiding us towards their agenda. Any doubts that we are being nudged, prodded, and guided towards a socialistic government and lifestyle should be put to rest now.
According to Scott Wheeler, Executive Director of The National Republican Trust, the Senate Judiciary Committee held a hearing earlier this week on the constitutionality of the czars and "additional hearings are expected in the Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee." The larger issue at hand, however, is how in the heck these czars got their jobs in the first place. In Mr. Sunstein's case, he was confirmed by the Senate. In fact seven Republican senators voted with the Democrats for cloture and cleared the way for his nomination to go to the senate floor for a vote. If these seven GOP senators had held the line, the nomination would have been blocked! Clearly there is something very wrong with the confirmation and vetting process. Either everyone in the senate is deaf, dumb and blind or they know--and support--the radical views of these czars. It will be interesting to follow the results of the hearings. I wonder if the hearings will really result in a change in the process. Or will this be another "oh-darn-we-were-caught-pull-back-on-this-because-the-country-isn't-ready-for-it- yet" moment? If you look closely you will see a pattern of action and reaction that this administration follows. It goes like this--something controversial is introduced and then when there is an outcry against it it is retracted, only to be reintroduced later usually in another form. This is the "nudging" process in a nutshell. They will keep trying until they find a way to get people to accept their views. Make no mistake, we are in the process of being gently guided and "nudged" toward a socialistic world. Will we wake up in time or will we accept it?
Although these issues are large and profound, I see an even larger issue ahead of us. Let's just say Mr Sunstein gets his chance to re-write the Constitution in 2020. Will there be anyone left with any knowledge of the original Constitution around to fight for the principles and tenets that gave birth to our country? Will there be anyone left who cares about freedom? I believe with all my heart that we must do all we can to preserve and pass on knowledge of history, the Constitution, and The Declaration of Independence for such a future moment. It is up to WE THE PEOPLE to defend our principles and our way of life. It is time now to take a stand!
