Reid: Both parties need to compromise in Senate General Headlines Comcast.net It didn't take Harry Reid long to jump on the "we-need-to-compromise" bandwagon! As I said in a previous post, if he and Pelosi had compromised two years ago, this election might have had a totally different outcome.

Now hear this Harry. You can expect the American people to be watching both you and the GOP very closely. We the People no longer want more of the same, or any of your weak watered down compromises. You thought you had a fight on your hands with Sharon Angle. Wait until you tangle with We The People.

An Amazing Night

I couldn't help it.  I just had to stay up as long as I could to watch the returns last night.  As I watched election after election go GOP I thought about how I had watched election night two years ago with a much different result.  I remember going to bed thinking at the time that I had witnessed the demise of the GOP and that it would be years before it came to power again, if at all.  How things change!  But the change was not a fluke or an accident.  It was the result of hard work of an awakened people who were determined to put this country back on track.  Whether or not GOP officials care to admit it the Tea Party movement had everything to do with this great awakening especially in the GOP ranks.  However, the GOP needs to remember that  this is not so much an endorsement as it is a second chance.  The GOP is definitely on probation!

Yet the election commissions either outright deny problems or minimize their occurences. Whatever is happening, the bottom line is we must not let anything or anyone deter us from voting!! Do not leave the poll until you are sure you have cast your vote correctly. Report all suspicious occurences to poll officials and the election commission. We the people are ultimately responsible for ensuring the integrity of the election process. Therefore we must accept no less than a clean, honest election.

I grew up with Steny Hoyer, Paul Sarbanes (and now his son John), firmly ensconced in Maryland politics. I think I will check the weather channel to see if Hell has frozen over. Oh, okay not yet.
