Click on the title for details about how Comedy Central plans a new series featuring Jesus Christ moving to New York City. If this series includes everything this article says it does, it will probably excel at nothing more than tastelessness, blasphemy, tackiness, vulgarity, and just plain stupidity. That being said, while I do not dispute Comedy Central's right to free speech and artistic expression there is no doubt that it is much easier and more cowardly to disparage religions that won't fight back. The lack of vigorous Christian response to this seems on the surface to indicate that we are turning the other cheek. But I think it signifies something much larger, that we are at a point where we know more about Islam and other religions than we do about Christianity, about Jesus. Instead of passing our Christian faith to our children like our parents and grandparents did, we have raised a generation much more open to other belief systems and much less knowledgable about the faith of their forefathers. It is no wonder that those in Hollywood are more open and ready to challenge Christianity. They know we are much less likely to defend something we are lukewarm about at best and hostile to at worst.
It is time for us as Christians to develop a way to articulate our faith and values to others. This is our best hope of standing against the forces of indifference and hostility. We can start with our own stories of what God has done for us through Jesus Christ. Evangelism is most effective when we share our heartfelt experiences with others. I think a great place to start would be with Comedy Central. Wouldn't it be awesome if thousands of Christians slammed the producers with stories of Jesus's real power, real redemption, awesome strength, and amazing love in our lives? Here is a link to Comedy Central where we can share our stories and concerns. http://www.comedycentral.com/help/questionsCC.jhtml
We Christians need to realize that Jesus endured far worse than being made fun of in a TV show and HE BEAT IT ALL-hatred, loneliness, desertion, despair, unimaginable pain, even death! He is all powerful and all loving and will be the one left standing at the end! This is the message we need to engrave on our hearts and joyfully share with the world. Start with Comedy Central.

Why Muslims Regard Images of Muhammad As Blasphemous
Fascinating. It is important to understand why they think images of Muhammed are so bad. So do we stop depicting Muhammed out of respect or out of fear?

Would There Have Been a United States Without Christianity?
Excellent and very informative article by Gary DeMar challenging Brooke Allen's book "The Godless Constitution" and debating the principles of Christianity vs Enlightenment. The book "The Godless Constitution" is almost a manifesto in history and government high school and college classes these days so it would behoove everyone to know what your kids are reading and being taught. If they must read stuff like this, be sure you are supplying them with other points of view so they will be informed rather than indoctrinated. www.americanvision.org is an excellent source of historical and religious sources that will help counter Progressivism, agnosticism and atheism...and a host of other "isms!" If we have any hope of preserving this country we must learn and understand the values and principles that formed our founding documents and government.

Was Christian Militia Targeted for Anti-Muslim Views? - ABC News
Was Christian Militia Targeted for Anti-Muslim Views? - ABC News Hmmm...guns and attacks against other groups are not the answer here. But the question is how much time is the FBI spending investigating Christians when they ought to be looking at the Islamic infiltration and influence in their own ranks as well as the other higher eschelons of government? Seems like this is just a ploy to villify Christians in the most convenient form possible. All Christians everywhere should take note of this. This group was an easy target for the FBI because they were on the fringe. But we need to be aware that one day soon all Christians will undergo persecution for the beliefs we hold. Now more than ever we need to look into our hearts and grow our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. We need to know what we believe and stand for it no matter what the cost. It is time to reach out to others and spread the good news about Jesus' love and salvation while we still have time and while people will still listen.

I Refuse To Be Comforted
Click on the title to read an amazing article. I think it speaks to a lot of the frustration and anger many Christians feel today. I too refuse to be comforted in that I don't want to be a Christian who stands on the sidelines, clutching my Bible, and refusing to engage in any solutions to the monumental problems I see happening in the world. I don't for one minute believe that God is calling me to withdraw from the world while waiting for Him to come back. I do believe that when Jesus comes back He wants to find me carrying out His mission of love and justice. It comforts me that in the Bible Jesus has let us know the end of the story. But before the story ends He wants me to continue to do all I can to bring His message of love, hope and salvation to the world. He wants me to actively engage in the world, help others, do good works, work for justice and peace because these are things that will exercise my faith and prepare me for heaven. He wants me to trust that He will come back when the time is right and to be ready to leave with Him at any moment. My prayer is that if He does come back in my lifetime He will find me in the fields reaping His harvest.

Newest Attack on Christianity: Noise Ordinances to Silence Worship
Click on the title to read about a church in the UK who has won a legal battle against a noise ordinance. Secularists are using such ordinances to try to silence everything from music to ringing church bells. The good news is that the churchs are fighting back and winning. But the war goes on. Personally I think we have come to a sad point in our lives when we can't even bear to listen to church bells.

A Perfect Hatred
Wow this article is so thought provoking I was almost reluctant to put it on the blog. But as Christians we need to confront things like this head on. So...do Christians hate? Is it right to hate things or concepts but not people? Does hate have a role in the Christian religion? What stand should we take when it comes to hate? These and all sorts of other questions may come to mind when you read this article so read on and let me know what you think.
