Genital Nicking--Danger of Moral Relativism Still Remains

Click on the title for a great article and updates concerning the recent issue with Female Genital Mutilation.  Apparently the American Academy of Pediatrics was not the only medical organization that took stupid pills over this issue.  Looks like the Royal Australian New Zealand College of Obstetricians is considering the "nicking option" as well!!  The forces to bear on this issue would have you think that it is a global phenomenon, that everybody is thinking about it, everybody should be doing it.  They would have you think it's ok to mutilate genitals in the name of cultural diversity, tolerance and acceptance.  They would have you think that nicking is a far more suitable solution than having the girls undergo more brutal procedures.  The truth is, policies reflecting this kind of thinking clearly are developed more to provide physicians a way out of a complicated situation than to protect patients.  Thankfully the AAP  revised theirs and I hope this sends a message to the rest of the medical world that all forms of FGM are completely unacceptable.  Still this raises very troubling questions of why the AAP Ethics Committee even "went there" in the first place.  If the welfare of young girls and women had truly been foremost in their minds, nicking would have--should have-- never been an issue.   I agree with Ms Ziganto, the author of the article, that we must never ever allow ourselves to "embrace barbarity in the name of cultural diversity and tolerance."   Some things are just plain wrong.

Oh now this is richly ironic and it would be downright laughable if it wasn't so serious and stupidly delusional.   Click on the title to read about how the US Census Bureau just signed a lease renting office space from Dar al-Hijrah Islamic Center in Falls Church, VA.  You can also enjoy reading about how the State Department uses it as a training center for diplomats and touts it as an wonderful example of American Islam.  Does the name of the center sound familiar?  It should.  It is the same mosque where top Al Qaida recruiter Amwar Awlaki, mosque leader, ministered to the Pentagon hijackers and radicalized the Ft Hood terrorist, the Times Square bomber, and the Underwear Bomber.  It is the same mosque that the Department of Homeland Security has warned is "an operating front for Hamas" and is "currently under investigation for financing and providing aid and comfort to bad organizations and members."  US Rep. John Carter, R-Texas, whose constituency includes Ft. Hood, is demanding that the government sever its lease and we can only hope that others follow suit.   

My question is this.  Why are we bothering to fight long and expensive wars in Iraq and Afghanistan when we are so willing to give aid and comfort to the enemy right here at home?

In an effort to keep families from sending girls overseas for female genital mutilation (FGM), the American Academy of Pediatrics is advocating a "milder form of it" be performed here in the states under "medical supervision." What's next, beheadings under medical supervision to avoid rusty swords?? Medically supervised or not, barbarism is still barbarism!!! All female physicians belonging to the American Academy of Pediatrics should immediately resign membership in protest. The American Nurses Association and other professional nursing associations should issue statements against FGM and this incredibly stupid policy. Women's groups need to send letters to your senators, congressmen as well as the AAP demanding that this never take place in our country. If we allow FGM to happen here in the name of political correctness and misguided cultural sensitivity, no one will be safe anywhere in the world. Especially women.

Teens Sent Home for Wearing American Flag Shirts

Click on the title for details.  It would have been far better if the school had promoted both Cinco De Mayo and American heritage.  What would have been wrong with everyone in the school wearing shirts with Mexican and American flags on them?  What would have been wrong with promoting the heritage of both countries?  The teachers and administrators at this school should have explained to the kids who complained that they were part of America now and that both heritages needed to be celebrated.  Instead of promoting unity and harmony, they inflamed hatred and further division all in the name of political correctness.  Shame on them all.

I have never heard of such poor treatment of a delegation from any country, let alone a country that has been our ally since its inception. What could Obama be thinking?????????????? All I know is that the Bible has a lot to say about those who touch Israel, the apple of God's eye. We will no longer be blessed as a country if we stop standing for Israel. Really, if this weren't so pathetic it would be hysterical! The people who came up with this idea have way too much time on their hands! I believe we've found our ObamaCare icon Well here we have Donna Simpson, age 42, who at a weight of 600lbs holds the Guiness World Record for being the world's largest mom. But she is not satisfied with that so she is working towards a goal of 1000 lbs!! I just LOVE the thought of my health care dollars going towards someone who just wants to sit around all day and eat! What would happen to Obamacare if all tax paying individuals stopped working and adopted Ms. Simpson's fitness goals? I think there would be a glut on the system...heh, heh (pun intended).
